Mizuno JPX 925 Hot Metal Irons
JPX925 Hot Metal – Maximum Speed, Maximum Consistency. All-round forgiveness. The core model of the JPX925 family, this model will suit golfers looking for maximum performance and consistency, even on off-centre strikes.
The golf club features a Contour Ellipse, which incorporates a re-engineered multi-thickness face that can be as thin as 1.2mm, roughly the thickness of 12 sheets of paper. This design represents a 30% improvement over the JPX923 model, enhancing ball speed and energy transfer upon impact. The clubface is shaped in an angled ellipse, extending from the high toe to the low heel, optimizing performance for common mishit areas and ensuring maximum speed retention even when the ball is not struck perfectly in the center.
The club also includes a Seamless Cup Face, a one-piece geometry that allows for thinned areas around the entire perimeter. This design increases the CORAREA (Coefficient of Restitution Area), ensuring that the ball retains more speed across the entire face, not just the sweet spot.
In terms of construction, the club utilizes Nickel Tungsten weighting in the 4-7 irons, positioning the weight low to promote a higher launch and a lower sweet spot. This configuration is particularly beneficial for shots hit off the turf, leading to steeper landing angles and better control on the green.
The Variable Sole Thickness feature allows the face to flex more efficiently, further increasing the CORAREA. The Nickel Tungsten weighting is strategically placed to enhance this flex without inhibiting it.
The Balance Stability Frame design balances the club’s weight distribution, improving control while maintaining forgiveness on off-center hits. This design also contributes to the preferred vibration and sound that many tour players favor.
Finally, Harmonic Impact Technology focuses on optimizing the feel of the club by fine-tuning the sound it produces at impact, as feel is closely related to sound. The head geometry is carefully engineered to provide ideal feedback, while Acoustic Sound Ribs along the top edge add rigidity to the top line, improving feel. A Sound Bar on the back of the club attenuates certain sound frequencies, eliminating undesirable tinny or clicky noises, and ensuring a satisfying, tour-preferred impact sound.
Variable Sole Thickness
Efficient Face Flex: The variable thickness of the sole allows the face to flex more efficiently, which also increases the CORAREA. The Nickel Tungsten weighting is strategically placed to enhance this flex without inhibiting it.
Balance Stability Frame
Balanced Weighting: This frame design balances the club’s weight distribution, improving control while still maintaining forgiveness on off-center hits. This design also contributes to the preferred vibration and sound that many tour players favour.
Multi-Material Construction
Nickel Tungsten Weighting: The use of Nickel Tungsten in the 4-7 irons positions the weight low, which helps launch the ball higher and positions the sweet spot lower. This design is particularly beneficial for shots hit off the turf, leading to steeper landing angles and better control on the green.
Seamless Cup Face
One-Piece Cup Face Geometry: The entire clubface is constructed in a single piece with a continuous, thinned design around the perimeter. This design increases the CORAREA (Coefficient of Restitution Area), which means the ball retains more speed across the entire face, not just the sweet spot.
