Odyssey has launched TRTL (say it “turtle”), a new family of high-MOI mallet putters. There are four models: the TRTL CH, TRTL DB and TRTL S, which share a new mid-mallet head, and the bigger TRTL MAX S2S, built for golfers who want the face to stay square through the stroke.
They’re in shops from 6 November 2026. Odyssey’s UK RRP is £299 for the TRTL CH, DB and S, and £329 for the TRTL MAX S2S.

What’s new about TRTL
Odyssey spent around 18 months developing TRTL. The aim was a mallet that’s as stable as possible, easy to line up, and gives you more consistent distance on putts you don’t strike perfectly.
- High MOI from mixed materials. The body is steel in a black PVD finish, the shell is lightweight ABS and the sole is aerospace-grade aluminium. Saving weight in the middle lets Odyssey push it out to the edges, which makes the head harder to twist on off-centre strikes.
- Ai-Star insert. A new dual-layer insert: an aluminium inner layer behind a firmer urethane striking face. It’s designed to keep ball speed consistent across the face and get the ball rolling forward sooner, with a firmer, more responsive feel.
- Deeper grooves. The Forward Roll Design grooves are deeper and more aggressive than before, with a 19° slope, to cut down skid and help the ball roll.
- Long alignment lines. Bold lines run right up to the face, so the putter is easy to aim from address.
- Sits square. New sole shaping, with refined rake and camber, helps the head sit flat on the ground and settle square behind the ball.
Adjustable weights
Each TRTL has four weights, one in each corner of the head. Moving weight between them shifts the centre of gravity towards the front, back, heel or toe, and fine-tunes how much toe hang the putter has. That’s more adjustability than Odyssey has offered in a mallet before. We can set the weights for you in a putter fitting.
TRTL CH, DB and S: the mid-mallet
The mid-mallet TRTL is the one most golfers will look at first. It follows the modern trend for compact, high-MOI mallets used by tour players. All three models share the same head, Tour Pistol grip and Odyssey SL 120 shaft. Only the hosel changes, and the hosel controls how much the face wants to open and close during your stroke:
- TRTL DB (double bend): face-balanced. Best for a straight-back, straight-through stroke. Available right and left-handed.
- TRTL CH (crank hosel): 20° of toe hang, for a slight arc.
- TRTL S (S neck): 30° of toe hang, for a stroke with more arc.
TRTL MAX S2S: maximum stability
The TRTL MAX is a larger head with the highest MOI in the range. It uses Odyssey’s Square 2 Square zero-torque design: the putter balances toe-up, so the face resists rotating open and closed during the stroke. It’s for golfers who want to keep the face square without having to manage it with their hands.
It has a slightly more upright lie (72°) and comes with a reverse taper grip instead of the Tour Pistol. Available right and left-handed.
Grip and shaft
The CH, DB and S come with a new Odyssey Tour Pistol grip, developed from tour feedback. Its crisp edges help you feel where the face is pointing. Every model uses the tour-preferred SL 120 shaft in black PVD, with a green band to match the head.
Already proven on tour
TRTL launched in Japan earlier this year, where Odyssey says the four models have been its top four sellers ever since. On tour, Odyssey says TRTL is already its most requested model, with Min Woo Lee and LPGA Tour winner Yuna Nishimura among the players using it.
The early UK reviews are strong too. Today’s Golfer gave it five stars and called it an “instant icon”, and Golf Monthly’s reviewer thinks it could be Odyssey’s most popular release in years.

Which TRTL is right for you?
- Your putter stroke goes straight back and through: TRTL DB.
- Your stroke has a slight arc: TRTL CH.
- Your stroke has a stronger arc: TRTL S.
- You want the face to stay square with as little effort as possible: TRTL MAX S2S.
- You’re left-handed: TRTL DB or TRTL MAX S2S.
The best way to be sure is a putter fitting. Our putter fitting uses Quintic analysis to measure how your face moves through the stroke, then matches the head, hosel, length and weighting to it.
